WhatsAppWhatsApp Desktop is the PC and Mac version of the popular messaging app. The desktop edition isn’t designed to be used individually. You can’t install the app just, for instance, on a few PCs — it extends your mobile app, a native version of WhatsApp Web.

Since there’s practically nothing, this can create the installation simple. A couple of seconds after your chats are exhibited, and you can continue the discussions.

Nothing too radical here, but there’s still plenty to like:

  • the program integrates correctly with your operating system,
  • starts when your OS starts,
  • displays native notifications,
  • supports all the features you want – one-on-one, group chat, photo, and video sharing, place sharing – and is straightforward to use.

Verdict

WhatsApp Desktop provides nothing new – it is only the front end for WhatsApp Online (Web) – but the enhanced keyboard shortcuts and background notifications that are native make for a messaging experience. Have a look.
