The Torch browser is a new experimental web-viewer based on the Chromium project. The Torch project is open source, which means it’s free to use and modify.
Torch Browser can be simply described by the following words: “just works”. By that, I mean that it’s easy to install, the UI is functional and pleasing to look at. There are many useful add-ons already built into the browser.
Torch Browser Features
Torch Browser safeguards your privacy by disabling autoplay videos, blocking third-party cookies, and preventing fingerprinting. It also has anti-phishing protection, so you can browse without worrying about malicious websites stealing your personal data.
Torch blocks all ads by default, including banners, pop-ups, video ads, and more. You can unblock sites or disable ad blocking altogether if you want to support their creators or just see what they offer.
Torch Browser is a fast web-surfing program designed to give you a smooth experience when you browse the web. It was built on top of the Chromium project and therefore uses the Blink rendering engine instead of WebKit.
Torch Browser Interface
- The main toolbar at the top of the screen has commonly used features like back and forward buttons, bookmarks, and recently visited pages.
- There are also tabs on the left side of your screen that you can use to open multiple pages at once.
- The address bar at the top of your screen displays the URL for whichever page you’re currently on.
Torch Browser’s main menu offers plenty of options for controlling it. There’s also a separate menu bar that shows up when you hover over the Torch Browser logo in the top-left corner of the screen.
This lets you perform several actions without having to go into the main menu every time, which can be useful if you’re using Torch Browser on multiple devices or want to avoid using too many mouse clicks.
How do I install Torch Browser?
The installation process is basic and easy to understand:
The first thing that you have to do is click on the download button, which can be found at the bottom of the website. Then, select the “save” or “save as” option, depending upon your browser settings.
Once you have downloaded the Torch browser, double-click on the file and wait for some time until it gets installed on your system.
Then, run it by clicking on its icon from the desktop or by searching for it on the start menu (if you use Windows OS).
Now, if needed, enter your username and password and enjoy browsing with the Torch browser!
Is the Torch Browser Safe?
This makes it impossible to track you as you surf the web and makes it much harder for anyone to steal your data like usernames, passwords, credit card numbers or bank account information.
Torch Browser also uses Safe Browsing technology from Google and BitDefender Anti-Malware for protection against malicious software downloads (viruses, spyware, etc.).
The browser blocks third-party cookies by default, which protects your privacy when surfing online. Torch Browser also claims to have a “built-in VPN” that can protect your data from hackers and ISPs.
This program was effortless to install and use. It has a multitude of useful features that make it easier to perform various tasks while browsing the internet.
These features, which can be a lot to take in at first, are simple to understand and manipulate with a few mouse clicks. Another aspect of this program that is wonderful is its speed.
Torch finds what it is looking for on websites rapidly; it does not experience problems like those experienced on Chrome, where the load time for a webpage can sometimes take an eternity before loading becomes relatively instantaneous again.
